Of course, you won’t have access to any online benefits which you could otherwise enjoy by having a valid, While it will install many of the settings are deactivated, you cant even change basic settings normally. @ Dave -- So what OS is Perfect - Certainly NOT linux or iOS- So what else is there that the general public use ? Manufactures of software will develop their programs generally for Windows and iOS before its done for linux ( if at all)? |

| 1427048 | 2016-10-08 21:06:00 | Some of the Big changes in updates have put a lot off If you are a business and find a update has left you high and dry with something not working for some reason has made people think twice about upgrading People and Businesses had the choice to move from say XP to Vista/Win7 and do it when they wanted to not like now when a Win 10 update can bork your system for some reason and it will still happen if they continue their update strategy |

In my case I purchased a new laptop with Win8/8.1 already installed. Well DOS was better than that rubbish, so when the opportunity presented itself I upgraded to Win 10. Now, Im on record as saying at the time I quite liked Win 10, it was snappy to open and shut and everything seemed to work fine. And then came the Updates, everyone a giant step backwards, until now the whole computer is as slow as the second coming and I spend most of my time trying to fix it. After the last update Three Programmes disappeared completely without trace. I reinstalled them and they work, but thats not the point. Then there is the Wifes Laptop where the Camera became upside-down after an update and a Win 7 Driver had to be installed to fix it, and now, after the last update, the camera cant even be found. Now I know a lot of the problems are fixable, but there are a lot of people out there, whose knowledge of Computers is restricted to turning them on and off, arent happy about paying for a Technician to fix things every week. From where I sit I think the problem is that Microsoft, in a plan to save money, engaged any Tom Dick or Harry to do their testing for free. Sure they became Insiders which made them feel important, but at the end of the day, as the old adage goes, You pay Peanuts, you get Monkeys. |
