| 1429054 | 2016-11-28 04:29:00 | I've been following this thread with some interest as I have been experiencing the same problems with an old 32 bit Compaq laptop - worked fine with Win 7 but not worth moving up to Win 10. One thing I have noticed is that since Win 10 became de rigeur the Compaq runs like it is full of treacle if the Windows Update service is running (>95% processor useage just idling), whether or not it is connected to the internet. Stop or disable the service and the laptop bounces along like a spring lamb. I have concluded that life is too short to spend any more time worrying about this - who needs updates? |
