2016-10-09 22:30:00 | I didn't like the mail app either, so installed Thunderbird, which I find suits me much better. Give it a try you might like it. Thunderbird is excellent. I've used that for years but thought I'd test out what was on offer in Win 10. Back to Thunderbird!

2016-10-09 22:33:00 | [wainuitech;1251955] Well it's the Anniversary update "Microsoft Has Broken Millions Of Webcams With Windows 10 Anniversary Update" and to make matters worse it is still being delivered here unfixed . Just means Win isnt perfect . :) Updates have been breaking hardware drivers since Xp, at least . Nothing new, move along . 99% of Win users wont have an issue with updates & drivers , thats the reality . Want real driver issues (ie no driver available at all), look at the other OS's instead .

2016-10-10 01:03:00 | Lotus Symphony is still available for you to play with see - loaditsoft.com Bryan had it on this XP machine and played with it, lol, but not the same and it would not pull up the old .wr1 or .dct files. Open Office and Libre will pull up most spreadsheets/word docs. As for W10 email system, wife's come up fine, but the lappy was set up for Outlook.co.nz, but the updates have put up two conflicting mail icons, 1 Hotmail and 1Windows Live, wtf. Use this XP pc to get over that ballsup, shhhhh don't tell wai , will ask Dr Google for a solution for that later, as everyone says there's an answer for most W10 teething probs. lurking.

No concern at all, not enough information given to offer a solution, conflicting as its been described can mean quite a few things. ( whats conflicting, user names, accounts, programs ??????) Hotmail, outlook.co.nz, outlook.com and Windows live are actually the same thing. |

2016-10-10 05:05:00 | Its been well proven for years that the majority of problems is from computers that have been upgraded from a previous OS. This is ANY OS. A well respected site -- www.howtogeek.com Talks about both Windows AND Linux. Example: Some benchmarks have found that upgrade installs perform more slowly than clean installs, which isn’t surprising. An upgrade install might have old bloatware and startup programs running in the background Mark Shuttleworth, who created Ubuntu, recently wrote that “Upgrading today is possible, but to keep the system clean over multiple successive upgrades requires an uncommonly high level of skill with APT.” Many people no matter what OS they are using don't have the skills. Number 2 response This Forum (www.tenforums.com) -- Seen that COUNTLESS times. Got one here right now, W7 was playing up so they thought the upgrade would fix the problems -- Yeah -- nah - Didn't happen.

2016-10-10 06:45:00 | Yep, as the link posted, ( don't know if you read it or not) can and does happen to EVERY OS. (Windows and Linux) Have done the same hundreds of times over the years, a fresh install is always better. Bet your own problems would be solved if you did the same. This guy (www.youtube.com) tells it quite well. Ask a person who does a lot of work on others computers and the majority will all say the same thing.

2016-10-10 07:08:00 | Bet your own problems would be solved if you did the same . Firstly, I didn't break the old system . A poorly engineered Update did and I wasn't given the opportunity to decline even . Why should I have to reinstall all the other programmes I have? Most people have no idea what's involved in what you're suggesting and you should say Grace every night and thank Microsoft for the Crayfish and Oysters and Caviar on your table . I'd be too embarrassed to defend Microsoft, but I'd eat the Crayfish, Oysters and Caviar anyway . Can't have waste .

2016-10-10 07:44:00 | I'm not suggesting every person reinstall their OS. What I am stating and this is from roughly 20 + years experience and working on thousands of computers that a fresh install will work better than an upgrade the majority of the time. And your qualifications and experience with computers is what please ? Its a fact of life EVERY OS can and does corrupt - You do whats required to repair it. A person could spend a week trying to fix a badly corrupted system and still not get it working fully, or install from fresh in approx 1 hour or less , then spend a few hours putting back the programs and data. Last rush install I did was done in 20 minutes (base OS with drivers). Firstly, I didn't break the old system. So you say, whose to say you don't have some old program that's not compatible ? (Ccleaner and most AV's have known to cause troubles if they are to far out of date)
