| 1429044 | 2016-11-24 19:32:00 | FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYY Got it working. :banana ... windows-7-wont-update-what-to-do/ (plugable.com) ... Spent for almost 3 hours last night, in downloading and applying those recommended updates in the link, I finally got it working this morning! It is doing the updates automatically now, at last! I think Microsoft has gone crazy ; they expect an end user to know what updates are needed and installed before it works automatically in FINDING the updates! They have a crazy CEO.. :D I missed the good old Bill Gates! hahaha Microsoft has 'derailed' just like the train in India! |

| 1429045 | 2016-11-24 19:42:00 | As its been pointed out in an earlier thread - MS want W7 gone, that's why I made the comment saying its going Like XP. Some updates that were put into XP near its end, made it run like a dog, slow and blaaa!! | wainuitech (129) | ||
| 1429046 | 2016-11-24 20:07:00 | Unethical behaviour to sabotage your earlier product in order to create demand for the current one. Shameful. |

| 1429048 | 2016-11-24 20:46:00 | In relation to the above, please answer this: WHY is it that some people have problems and some don't, its all the same update ? Very simple, their updates are now incompatible with many systems. Now whether that is because of plain incompetence, or their desire to take complete control of YOUR Computer, is up to you to decide. I know which one I think it is and have voted with my feet as it were. In my case I have three entirely different Computers all needing to be repaired after various updates. Never happened in my previous thirty odd years of owning Computers. |

| 1429050 | 2016-11-24 21:49:00 | Very simple, their updates are now incompatible with many systems. . I'll correct you on that part -- The updates may be incompatible with Programs already installed on Some systems or outdated hardware that the manufactures no longer support. NOT incompatible with Windows 10 OS. Every Single Problem I've seen with Drivers has been on computers that are over 3 years old.If you look it up, the life expectancy is 3-5 years, and the hardware begins to age after 2-3 years. Thanks for the daily Laugh: I know which one I think it is and have voted with my feet as it were. You wont dump MS completely, its even been admitted in other posts. (remember what you posted) QUESTION: Since your laptops came with an earlier OS, WHY dont you wipe their drives and put the earlier version back, They wont upgrade to W10 and according to you they were better - Hell I'll even give a link to get which ever version you had, Right HERE (s1.rg-adguard.net) - select your old version and reinstall. No real excuse not to. Just Like BK has installed W7 in this Thread. :) |

Oh good, so Microsoft have taken it upon themselves to declare your/my Computer obsolete after 3 to 5 years. That’s very generous of them, I hope all those reading this thread are paying attention. You wont dump MS completely, its even been admitted in other posts. (remember what you posted) I’ve paid for it and I’ll use it. It’s just that Microsoft won’t have access to it to hinder my using it. |

NOPE not Microsoft, Industry and Computer manufactures and general users opinions -- Google it and you'll see. Appears using google could be a awkward task as well, so here you go Lets do it for you - sorry no spoon (lmgtfy.com) So now you're saying W10 came on your Computers ? I highly doubt you paid a cent for W10, from memory and anyone can look up your other threads, your computers came with W7 and W8.1, so that's what you paid for, W10 was FREE. So put back what you paid for - the earlier versions, but we all know you wont, its not like you cant do it. I'm doing a fresh install of W7 with updates as I mentioned earlier to make a image and sysprep. I'm timing how long it takes from start to finish and will post back after its done. |

| 1429053 | 2016-11-26 03:00:00 | All you need for Windows 7 is service pack one which you can download and install manually. I recently installed WINDOWS ultimate 7 Pro, but forgot to turn off auto updates before going on line, it then did some updates and changed from being responsive and 'alive' to a slow booting dog. Fortunately I had made a system backup before I went online. Turn off auto updates in group policy. | mzee (3324) | ||
