To be fair nothing is certain, but we prefer to lean toward the evidence.

1427143 2016-10-09 22:27:00 These near death/after life stories all just ignore the crazier afterlife/near death experiences. Media just pick the ones that are a nice
fit for the TV doco. :banana

The experience differs wildly , depending on the persons cultural/religious beliefs . To the extent of seeing aliens by those in some of the weirder
cults .

Why should I have to justify to you or anybody, my reasoning for thinking that your statement (opinion) was a load of bull sh1t in my mind?

I was not saying that you need to justify yourself to me or anyone else. I was simply saying that your remarks lacked intelligence and that you did not come up with any argument to support your opinion. Besides, it was not my statement or opinion. If you had read what I wrote you would know that I was recounting that which I had just read in the book entitled "Life After Life."

Your subsequent ravings - "a load of bull sh1t in my mind" showed even more graphically a lack of intelligence. Pity you did not have anything more astute to say. But then, as I said before, your lack of acumen is not unexpected.

1427145 2016-10-09 23:18:00 To be fair nothing is certain, but we prefer to lean toward the evidence. One thing is certain. Everyone will die one day. What and if anything happens after that, no one knows.

There's lots of religions and beliefs as to what happens after death, but no one prove or disprove any of it. Someone mentioned science - What if science doesn't relate, if you look up on google there's lots of things that science cant explain - yet they still happen.

Who knows, live the life we have now :)

1427146 2016-10-10 00:03:00 I think the likely explanation for near death experience is the gradual dimming of consciousness, followed by hallucinations of dead loved ones.
This is sometimes followed by the recovery of the individual....
More commonly though, they enter politics, or religion. Worst is when you have both combined, (almost) invariably followed by armies stoking the fire through killing people to pacify them.

1427147 2016-10-10 00:27:00 I got a message from my Dad who died 30 years ago. He said that it was great being in Heaven playing golf all day long. Then he said that the worry is that my name has been put up on the board for a threesome for next Friday.

1427150 2016-10-10 23:31:00 I watched my uncle die, and my ex saw her dad die.

In both cases, witnessing the body fighting for those last breaths was far from peaceful. It was the stuff of nightmares, and it really makes me question the habit of calling loved ones to the bedside when someone is dying.

Maybe the brain is enjoying a peaceful exit (we can only hope), but the body does not always let go without one hell of a fight.

It's a scene I would happily un-see if the option was available. Those of a sensitive nature might find it extremely traumatic to witness.

My mum has senile dementia, and is often confused when woken, and can suffer hallucinations while the brain waits for a decent blood supply to return (pulse rate and blood pressure being lower during sleep, so the brain may be partly oxygen starved).
Interestingly, when in these states it is only ever deceased family members that she comments on (as if they are still alive).

If she falls asleep doing word puzzles, and I wake her up with a word, she will sometimes hallucinate that word is written across my face. She points to the letters on my face and spells out the word.
