| 1427323 | 2016-10-12 15:03:00 | I had the starter solenoid poop out on my Isuzu Amigo, and being as parsemonious as I can, I decided to fix it myself . If someone wants to know how to make the solenoid stop clicking and get it on to actually spinning the starter, let me know . Suffice it to say that the repair seemed good . . . starting the engine 5 or 6 times as the acid test . . . . After the repair, I went fishing up on the East Fork of the Bitterroot River in Sula, MT . Hmmmm . Funny to say "up on the East Fork" since South is higher altitude and North is lower altitude . The Bitterroot River runs North to Missoula . That's where "A River Runs Through It" was filmed . I digress . I drove about 11 miles East up to a small riverfront campsite . I know that the river there was accessible without using a machete to get into it . I excitedly pulled into a tree covered, deeply shaded campsite, shut down the engine and as I was just putting my left foot out the driver's door - a large bear popped up 2 or 3 feet from my front bumper . (NZ = pedestrian repositioner) Then I saw two bear babies that outweighed me each, and one of them also stood up while the other was still on all 4 feet . I know that mommy bears teach their babies that automobiles are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside . Isuzu Amigos with no tops are also enter-able from the wide open rear so the chewy center-section is easier to get to . I pulled my left leg back in, hit the starter and slammed into reverse and backed up all the while staring at mommy bear . So - you see - my starter solenoid repair has been field-tested and gets my seal of approval . |

Felt like the first day of summer . . except the blossom on the flowering cherry trees in our street hasn't come out yet . All the trees are flowering here or growing their leaves now . My grapevine is covered in new branches and leaves and has flowers . Garden well under way, been picking strawberries (albeit not many) for a month now . |
