Have to chuckle a wee bit though, they tell everybody 'Trust us we know what we're doing, so we'll take your ability to manage your system away' Then they issue known problematic updates on the user, like a high pressure ****-hose. Stuck with it on the media PC because Lightbox no longer allows Linux to use it, and SWMBO likes to play some of the W10 games. Mostly though the rest of the PCs are on Mint. |

One that's actually quite amusing - lots of people had problem with ASUS laptops and the web camera was displaying upside down. This had NOTHING to do with Microsoft, they installed default drivers for a large manufactures all using the same drivers and same camera's . The problem with ASUS was they cheated in their laptops, it was easier for them at the time to install the web cams upside down in the units and alter their drivers to suit. SO unless newer software was installed from ASUS there were problems. As per This UBUNTU article (askubuntu.com) it affected many OS's, so for those who say its Microsoft -- Pays to get their facts right first eh ;) @ Dave -- That's what I mentioned earlier, not all manufactures will make software for all OS's. Nothing anyone can do about it really unless the person has the skills to write software that does work. Bit like Some browsers no longer working Eg: FF on XP some sites simply wont load. The games, easy enough to reinstall the default games that Previous OS's had that have been removed, I do it all the time for people. Easy enough to find the exe if doing a google search. |

The problem was Microsofts generic driver that didnt cater for the Asus Camera or a lot of others it seems. In short, they outsmarted themselves and Asus didnt have to do anything. |

NOTHING to do with Microsoft. Its well documented that ASUS put the cams in upside down. AND guess what ASUS did put out drivers to fix their problem and FINALLY feed the drivers to MS. |

| 1427057 | 2016-10-09 02:25:00 | Why should Microsoft have to compensate for one manufacturer taking shortcuts? ;) Exactly :) Many manufactures use the same hardware. | wainuitech (129) | ||

Win 7 Driver works fine on Win 10 Only you would post a link to an article that's a couple of months old, and already been fixed . That article was created in August its now October in case you don't know what month it is . MANY older drivers work fine - no one said they didn't . I notice you still have not answered the question "Please explain then WHY in the link provided people using UBUNTU also had the same problem" relating to the cams in ASUS laptops being upside down . |
