1429149 2016-11-24 21:55:00 I now get a green screen when trying to play videos. I can hear the sound and see the thumbnails as I move the mouse along the timeline but no pictures on full screen.

I'm running Windows 10 and it's the same whether I use Chrome or Firefox.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

1429150 2016-11-24 23:14:00 this is a very old problem seen all the time going back to W98.

Are they Flash videos - If so while its playing, right click the video/ Settings under Display, Untick Enable Hardware Acceleration. Close the Video and reopen should work.

If they are Not Flash Videos, then what type of graphics do you have as settings are in different Locations.

The other versions are HTML5, so your graphic Drivers may be outdated and require new ones.

1429151 2016-11-24 23:54:00 Thanks wainuitech,

I've right clicked on a video and discovered I've got HTML5. I'm still getting familiar with Windows 10 and haven't been able to find any info about what sort of graphics driver i have.

Would you have any advice on where to look and how I would update it?

many thanks

JR

1429152 2016-11-25 00:12:00 Okay, this is going to be a bit hit and miss or awkward. If you have access to another Computer watch on youtube www.youtube.com ( there is a 1.19 Ad first) It relates to Chrome. If you don't then Listen carefully to what the guy says he steps you through, and do it on chrome.

It Disables Hardware Acceleration directly in Chrome, relating to HTML5

1429155 2016-11-25 23:30:00 Many thanks wainuitech, it worked a treat. Did I cause this inadvertently or is it the result of an 'upgrade." You can do the same thing with FF if thats doing still .

In FF, open FF, top Right 3 horazontal Bars - Options - Advanced - Untick "Use hardware acceleration when available"

This happens sometimes, not 100% sure of the cause, generally somewhere a update has been done either places Like Youtube, or maybe a bug in the browser.
