| 1429109 | 2016-11-23 02:33:00 | My PC occasionally gives me an unwarranted "Restart" cutting me off the midst of my work, either while web-browsing or email-composing. What could be the cause? Appreciate some help. Thanks CHIN3927 |

| 1429110 | 2016-11-23 04:30:00 | Does it give any warning o just restart immediately? There are a number of possibilities, you could check event viewer for clues www.dummies.com might point you in the right direction. First you need to figure out if it's a hardware or software issue, which is difficult with intermittent problems. If it's hardware it's likely something overheating or a poorly performing power supply but really that should trigger a shut down rather than a restart. If it's software hopefully the event viewer gives you more to go on, booting off a Linux live/install disk/usb drive and using the borowser and E-mail from there is one way to eliminate software issues, if that crashes on you it's probably hardware. You can download any popular distro like Mint or Ubuntu as a test, they all have bootable images with an included Browser and E-mail client. Here's one as an option www.kubuntu.org |
