1428967 2016-11-20 09:01:00 I had but have now lost the contacts sidebar in Thunderbird email client. I can get the full contacts in another window but that only allows one contact at a time to be entered in a reply/forward email. Any ideas out there? jayal (1291)

1428969 2016-11-20 09:56:00 Hi Wainuitech, I've got no idea what to do. A number of comments are available but make no sense. (to me anyway) The Thunderbird version is 45.3.0, for what it's worth - maybe I'll sleep on it .Thank you anyway jayal (1291)
1428970 2016-11-20 10:03:00 Looks like some sites have 45.5.0, but its not on the site. Only 45.4.0 is Speedy Gonzales (78)
1428971 2016-11-20 20:25:00 Hi Speedy, now got 45.4 0
the only way to do it (I think) is open the address window, minimise, open mail to forward, reply, minimise, then laboriously enter one at a time - there's gotta be a better way!

1428972 2016-11-20 21:02:00 Just installed thunderbird to try -- As per the linked article. Its simple.

When you Open a mail ( either New or reply) press the F9 key and your address list will show on the left. You can also do the same by opening a new mail, up top click View - Tick Contacts side bar.
From then on any new / Reply mails will automatically have the address book showing.
