1428906 2016-11-19 20:52:00 I went to amazon.com where I buy all my computer stuff and I can't figure out which monitor to get. It's a LG 32 inch 1080X1920 and one is for $189 with a list price of $299 and one is $199 and I think the list price is $199. The one for $199 has 8 connections in the back and the one for $189 has 4 connections. I can't figure out which one is the best one. Then it has a warranty for 1 year so is it worth $15 for another 2 years? It's a confusing mess for me. lostsoul62 (16011)
1428907 2016-11-19 21:59:00 Hmm, let's see. Nope crystal ball broken. How about a model number or a link perhaps? otherwise you are asking about advice on 2 unknown monitors based solely on the price.....

If they have the same refresh rate, resolution, brand, and panel type, buy the cheap one. If one is an IPS it probably has the nicer picture.

If I ever want to use this monitor in the future I should buy the one with the USB ports?

yep, good luck with that, unless the local distributor will accept warranty claims on private imports (why would they) :)
The LG's Ive bought locally all had 3year warranty .

Neither of the links you provided worked!

Why would you want to buy a new monitor from the USA anyway?

1428912 2016-11-21 13:26:00 Do Computer monitors take AC or DC in this day and age? All I see are DC. Have they stop using AC? lostsoul62 (16011)
1428913 2016-11-21 17:50:00 Like most electronic gear nowadays they run on DC but come with an external adapter to connect to the normal AC household power which provides the correct power to the device. In the olden days a few years ago the power was converted inside the monitor by a power supply inside it. A modern TV is the same. They are now too thin to fit it inside easily. CliveM (6007)
1428914 2016-11-21 20:10:00 Are all the monitors Gloss because I can't seem to get a 32 inch matted screen. Even when the manufacture says it's matted and people using them say it's gloss. I've spent hours researching these monitors and I still come up short. lostsoul62 (16011)

Both. Most Ive seen are AC.
Some run off an external power pack: thats really just a pain as its yet another box to get in the way.
