| 1427713 | 2016-10-22 23:39:00 | www.stuff.co.nz Brickbat for the PC school wowsers - bouquet for the Mum! A single good tiff from an angry parent does a much better job of minimising bullying than a hundred useless 'group conferences'. And when I was at school, any 15yo that had the disrespect to 'have a go' at an adult would have fully expected to have sense beaten into them in no uncertain terms. |

For the girls the threat of the edge of a ruler on the flat of the palm kept them in line as well. Kids today are being molly-coddled and it's not good for them, gives them an inflated sense of their own importance and then they come a cropper later in life. |

Hunt pleaded guilty to two charges of common assault and appeared in the Hamilton District Court on October 12 before Judge Merelina Burnett. The assault essentially concerned a slap, a punch, and grabbing, he said. "[Hunt] did actually lose her job because of this behaviour, because she did have a role working with children." That's why it's a bad idea. My mum went to school once - my brother used to get bullied all the time, cornered one kid but she didn't touch the kid, just gave a lecture and the kid in question never did it again. Admittedly this wasn't high school at the time, and sadly a lecture now probably wouldn't work, the little monsters know they can get away with it. |

| 1427718 | 2016-10-23 03:26:00 | "More funding"? What a cop-out. There were certainly very quick fixes for that sort of behaviour when I was at school. It's only a few steps down the chain from giving into terrorism. The teachers at my school handled it without having $$$ poured into the system then. Some schools seem to be able to handle bullying better than others. Maybe the "others" should have a chat with those who handle it better. It's a shame the members of the public didn't pull the bullies away before it got to that stage. |

| 1427719 | 2016-10-23 05:05:00 | Ive got some first hand knowledge on matters of this nature. In short, a couple of years ago I had a problem with a fellow and decided the best way to deal with it was to treat him like an old computer and punch the information in, which I went right about doing. Anyway, he screams of to the Police blubbering hed been assaulted. :crying Sooo, the Police have to act and I get dragged in for questioning. Well the other character is well known to the Police and Courts and one policeman tells how he would love to do the same to this prick, but he wasnt allowed to, and nor was I. Anyway, after short deliberation they decided it wasnt in the public interest to prosecute me and I should be found guilty and discharged under some statute without bothering the Courts. All that aside, I shall become a repeat offender if this prick crosses my path again. :D Interestingly, I haven't seen him mentioned in dispatches since. |

| 1427721 | 2016-10-24 01:24:00 | Problem if you wack someone, could result in death, or serious injury. Risk being had up for manslaughter. Also some can get quite vicious - seen that at school when I was about 13. That person recently was jailed for murdering his girlfriend... | kahawai chaser (3545) | ||
| 1427722 | 2016-10-24 01:37:00 | Problem if you wack someone, could result in death, or serious injury. Risk being had up for manslaughter. There is a huge difference between a "can I have your full attention for what I am about to explain to you" twak and an "i'm going to kill you" type assault. |
