2006-04-02 08:06:00 | I finally talked the war office in to allowing an upgrade from dial up to broadband!! As I am with telstra I have decided to stick with them and thought the deal they were offering wasnt to bad. For $71 per month I get a home line(which I have with them already) and 2Mbs connection with 5gig per month!! Are there any others out there that have been spurred on by the price decrease and are about to change? If so what plan will you be taking up and why? Mike

Mike You can get 2Mb and 3Gb downloads at half that price . Slingshot's Jetbuster Extreme . Way to go! |

2006-04-02 11:37:00 | Slingshot's plan doesn't include a phone line (only tolls). | somebody (208) | |
2006-04-02 11:47:00 | For an extra 10 bucks you can get italk with free software and another phone line. | eef2 (1904) | |
2006-04-02 11:47:00 | For around $70 my current ISP, Quicksilver gives 3Mbs with 30GB allowance. With Xtra its 10GB. Unfortunately uploads still suck at 128k.

2006-04-02 12:10:00 | You're all missing the point.. The $71 includes the phone line (which either Telecom or Telstra has to provide), which costs 30-40 bucks. | roddy_boy (4115) | |

2006-04-02 12:31:00 | There are some apples/oranges comparisons here, surely? Miknz's post seems clear about what he's getting for $71 monthly. Eeef2's is still too vague to convince me. bob_doe_nz seems to be suggesting Xtra will give 10GB broadband for "around $70." Well, yesterday's Xtra phone bill was $74.30 for the line & 24/7 internet charges alone. But I'm on good ole DialUp... So what am I missing here? P.S. Oooops. Obviously didn't refresh the page soon enough...
