442925 2006-04-01 21:28:00 It was quite an interesting topic I came across as I found out that Google (www.google.co.nz) bought the Web Word Processor Writely (http:)

Lately I wiped out Microsoft Office 2003 on my old old computer that I upgraded to Windows XP. I took it back to Windows 98, and put OpenOffice on it.
OPenOffice is a bit of a slow runner, so I tried out ZohoWriter (http://www.zohowriter.com) and It's actually pretty good. IT's a fast loader, can do most things you'll need it to do, will store as many documents as you please and then save to your PC.

Anything I can't do there, I just use my laptop for, or I start OpenOffice, make a hot chocolate then come back and start work.

Comments would be interesting, thanks

442926 2006-04-04 08:52:00 thanks for the tip on Zoho. that site should help solve at least a few of my problems. cool. starrekin61 (10116)
442927 2006-04-04 17:49:00 Not sure about ZOHO . . . but I like the ability to immediately create a . pdf from OpenOffice . Don't need Adobe that way . . . . . . . .

I personally have a hatred for WinOffice stuff all around . . . it's big, sloppy and full of bugs after upgrades and hotfixes . . . . . dropped it a year or so ago .

I DO have Corel's WordPerfect 2003 though . . . and use it sometimes . Not my preferred .

. . . . just my :2cents:
