442733 2006-04-01 06:59:00 Hi folks. The flat horizontal bar above the letter a/A in accepted spelling of the word Māori. It has a unique name which my old brain has temporarily lost. Help appreciated. Scouse (83)

442739 2006-04-01 09:36:00 Yes, thanks Laura. I was using the character from Word's symbols to make an AutoCorrect entry and had an old fashioned mental blackout looking at the damn macron and telling myself that I used to know what it was called. I thought Sam I Am's comment was absolutely lovely. Well done SIA. Scouse (83)
442740 2006-04-01 10:50:00 Microsoft has a keyboard driver that you can download that enables you to macronise vowels in Māori. You hit the tilde ~ key and then the vowel. John H (8)
442741 2006-04-01 12:22:00 Yea. Thanks John. I already have a keyboard shortcut of Alt+A which creates the macron in general use. Thanks all. Scouse (83)
