| 442257 | 2006-03-31 00:01:00 | Hi, Anyone want a free cat? It came to us as a stray, and is black with white feet and white underside. His name is Shavo (after the bassist in System of a Down) However now he has begun to fight with one of our cats.. the other dominant one. And since the other cat was here first (and gets his ass kicked :( ), shavo has to go. Don't know why he fights with that one though - probably cos he is the only other dominant one that can fight. He is fine with our other cats - one is slightly retarded from being hit by a car when younger, one is 3 legged, and the other is an old angry cat that threatens to slice shavo's face in half if he comes near her... Anyway, if you want this thing, I live north of Auckland between Orewa and Helensville. |

In fact we need a cat more than ever now because this yesterday and today I saw, for the first time ever in New Zealand, a mouse around our house. Anyway, don't be too quick to give it away unless it's been around for a very long time. Cats are known to return to their homes even after quite a while. |

| 442265 | 2006-03-31 03:00:00 | It is annoying when your cats fight. Just for everyone's info there is a product called Feliway www.virbac.co.nz This is either a spot spray or an electric dispenser like those airfresheners you can get in the supermarket. But not cheap - I think we paid $30 for the dispenser and one refill from the vet. The idea is that it fills the room with a calming hormone for a month and puss settles down. Worth a try. Our experience was that the two calm cats became calmer but my neutered Siamese (who is a worrier and has a lot on his mind) still trys to spray. Fortunately no fighting. Fortunately for him, its me and the 3 children against my wife as to what ultimately happens. :D |
