442081 2006-03-30 10:51:00 From Sky's website Thursday 30 March evening

"Due to an outage of SKY’s Optus B1 there are no satellite services at this time .

We regret any inconvenience this may be causing you . We are working with Optus, the service provider, to restore service as soon as possible .

We expect that the phone lines will be extremely busy during this time so to be able to keep you informed we will be placing updates and information on this website"

I assume it took out New Zealand . Did it take out Australia, Singapore also?

I have a friend who says he'll asks for a refund pro-rata .

442083 2006-03-30 11:01:00 Must be solar powered with the eclipse stuffing them up. :D

As an aside their service levels are beoming poorer IMO. There seems to be far more outages for silly things like "rain fade" ... so Im not allowed to watch TV if it's p***ing down? - thats exactly when I would want to watch TV. :(

I laughed when the news mentioned that the root problem was the eclipse. True words said in jest as it were.
