442069 2006-03-31 02:27:00 I did. It took longer to come back here is all. Up now.

I did see a news report that said WN and CHCH came back first. I think Sky does have a very slow transmitter based on how old some of the stuff is by the time we get it :p

442072 2006-03-31 04:27:00 And of course theres the massive time difference between up North and down here in the deep South...so the lag must be terrible  ! pctek (84)
442073 2006-03-31 05:28:00 how do they determine how much is "one days service" as we're getting refunds for that?

they could for all they care just refund 20c and say thats how much it is...

and they would be really glad it happened last night not 2morrow night...650pm would be the final 10 mins of Hurricanes v Crusaders....OUCH!!! imangine a 17-17 draw 10 mins 2 go....sky satellite falls out of the sky...

Well done sky for getting services back :) and bring on the new satellite launch in june.....YAY :D

442074 2006-03-31 05:41:00 What surprises me is that those of us on cable are effected! it's pretty hard to back up a satelite given that the back up would have to occupy the same space, but getting the signal to the cable network via the SC cable would surely be real easy!

Actually the lag is a real pain for sports fans watching that game thing played in Jade stadium. We hear the yahooing from the stadium before we see the goal or what ever it is being scored, or so my flatmate tells me.

442075 2006-03-31 05:44:00 i'm deaf...and i watch the games with no volume (unless someone else is watching it too) so when i see it is when I see it :D csinclair83 (200)

442077 2006-03-31 06:11:00 Another thing that really surprised me was tv1 and tv2 being down on the CHCH cable network yesterday.

I just checked the cable TV box thingy, it appears that all the channels except Prime TV (whatever that is) are back up, so either the sat is back up, or telstra have just done something "very expensive" to get cable TV back up and running.
