443521 2006-05-14 02:00:00 Well i got one!!!!!!!!!!!

i ended up getting one from the red shed...best deal i could get for a 32inch crt widescreen .....:D

cant move the beep thing tho so got some help to move it and install it and its all good............fantastic watching something that uses the whole screen for dvd's......

It was under my budget so it meant i got a new cabinet as well...:D

i like my new toy..... :D

i decided that the LCD's even tho they were on my wish list were overpriced for the size i could afford.....and the plasma's just didnt have the quality pictures.....not that i could afford one...

thats all folks...................

Oh dear. Never mind I was successful getting my money back when I took the thing my son bought from them back and kicked up a fuss.
Then I bought him a Sony like he should have in the first place.

443526 2006-05-16 11:01:00 It still takes a fair bit of beating to get a clearer picture like a philips 32" 100hz widescreen tv even lcd isnt as clear as that when viewed from a far distance. Hitech (9024)

Here in the US, there's a lot of noise about the new broadcast format . . . the HDTV stuff is making the prices of tv's drop thru the floor .

What cost about $1,000 . 00 last year here, is not selling for $199 . 00 . Big difference!

I am waiting for the prices of the HDTV's to drop with the influx of models and brand names later on in the next year or so .

Since the old format for tv broadcast is being scrapped for the newer HDTV stuff, there will be a big splurge in decoder boxes to get the new format onto older sets for a while .

So . the older stuff will still work for a while . . . . . . but with adapters and such .

Please wait till it all shakes out a bit yet .

I don't intend to wave flags here, but the US is getting the trends all sorted out here first (at our expense) . . . NZ should wait for a while to see which format finally gets universal approval . . . don't forget the old VHS/Beta thing . . . it hurt a lot of people who got froggy and jumped before the bugs got worked out .

I suspect that there never will be a universal standard with HDTV. It will be a HD version of NTSC vs PAL vs Secam again..
