442054 2006-03-30 13:14:00 I wouldn't call it suffering. Just an inconvenience.

You would think that Sky would have a back up system in place in situations like this.

442056 2006-03-30 18:59:00 Without wading though this site, what does a virtual view from Optus B1 prove? Other sites are saying that the satellite is past repair - gone for good.

442057 2006-03-30 20:35:00 From SkyTV Website:
With the temporary loss of the Optus satellite we have made SKY Sport temporarily available “free to air” on our UHF network. To be able to access it you will need to tune your TV set to the SKY Sport channel

How to Tune into SKY Sport

SKY Transmits on the UHF band in most City and provincial centers.

Turn your television on.

On your remote control, press the button you have chosen for SKY Sport (we suggest 8, which is probably available).
Open the control panel on your television.
Press the 'pre-set/tuning' button. (Refer to your television manual if you have one available)
Start tuning by pressing + (up) on the tuning control. (Remember, you will find SKY on the UHF band).
When you have found SKY Sport press the 'pre-set/memory' button again to lock the channel into the number you have chosen on your remote. For best reception a UHF is usually required if you have no UHF antenna the results are likely to be a grainy quality picture or no picture at all

442058 2006-03-30 20:47:00 I've learned that you have MySky you can playback previously recorded programs by switching to channel 999. Otherwise you get a message that you can't playback 'cos the satellite is unavailable. Mackin_NZ (6958)
