Slayer- A 24 song cd that I made, Strange as it may seem, The manic vioent metal explosion of Slayer brings great calm over me.

Disturbed-The latest CD, Its pretty weak but I still play it, I bought one of their earlier albums as well, Generic nu-metal, It went in the bin as soon as I arrived home from the record store.

Iraon Maiden-Brave New World, I need a dose of the Irons every single day, without fail.

Rose Tattoo- Assult and Battery, Imo one of the greatest aussie pub rock albums ever (and make no mistake the Aussie pub scene has been the breeding ground for some of the best music ever made). I managed to catch one of their re-unuin concerts when I was living on that side of the ditch, One of lifes high points, Seeing ones long silent favourite bands belting out their blue coller rock to 5000 punters. Pete Wells whose slide guitar defined the sound of the band died just a few days ago, So I sank a few beers in his honor last night, Well.....a good 30 beers and a bottle of tequila.

Hail Hail Rock n Roll
Hail Hail Rock n Roll

.....and binge drinking.....W00t w00t.

442630 2006-04-02 10:40:00 I listen to a variety of music...I love music with heavy 'ingredients', big reflex bass music, Death Metal, Slowjams, some pop, some ballads, a bit of acoustics...but mostly Metal or Death Metal.... Mr Wetzyl (362)

I haven't heard your No. 3 choice for so many years that I'd forgotten it.

Well, almost... I now find that it's filtering back in.
Best/worst, eh? I loved it as a kid...

Jimmy Durante, wasn't it?

442632 2006-04-02 19:48:00 Three worst/best song titles of all time:

"I Scream, You Scream, we all Scream for Icecream"

"Plant a Watermelon on my Grave and let the Juice Soak Through"

"How can you Believe me When I Tell you That I Love you When you Know I've Been a Liar all my Life"

.....and how about: "Drop-Kick Me Jesus, Through The Goalpost Of Life?" :groan:

442633 2006-04-02 20:47:00 Disturbed-The latest CD, Its pretty weak but I still play it,I've been told i'm going to see disturbed... i'm happy with that.

Funny how music lasts best if it's associated with good memories. Tool, Sepultura, Pantera, Drowning Pool and Disturbed bring a big smile to me, in part because they remind me of the days when i used to be sober driver for a good friend of mine who was in the habit of getting herself totally trashed. We'd have the car stereo up as loud as it would go without turning to custard, and be screaming along with her CDs together as we cruised from pub to bar to club to whatever, usually with some of her equally drunk girlfriends in tow.

Good times, pleasant memories.

I bought one of their earlier albums as well, Generic nu-metal, It went in the bin as soon as I arrived home from the record store.
Waste of a good CD! Have you ever considered painting a wall black and lining it with dead CDs? I've done that here, it looks totally awesome :D

442634 2006-04-02 21:07:00 Just for the record, i've run out of tolerance for death metal, or at least the variety of death metal that comes out of this country. This may be because i worked as a sound engineer with far too many awful talentless "metal" bands last year. I don't mind aggressive, fast and driving music at all, but there seems to be a wave of death metal that sits there like an loud angry sulking child. I have no time for it. Music must be strong and drive if its designed to be loud. Loud and stagnant with 300 plus kickdrum hits per minute does nothing for me other than inspire me to walk away.

I'm not into rap, but i found the rap acts i worked with last year easier to work with as i could switch off to them easier. Some music just annoys.

442635 2006-04-03 01:53:00 Quiet Riot : We're Not Going To Take It

[Big sigh]
See, that's what I hate about Limewire etc.

It's Twisted Sister, not Quiet Riot.
Bloody file-sharers.

Ah - my bad. Yes that was meant to be Twisted Sister, followed by Quiet Riot with "Cum on Feel the Noise". I'm not sure what Limewire is but I don't do Bit torrent if that's what you are referring to. Just a typo.....nothing to see here.....
