| 442184 | 2006-03-31 23:33:00 | Either it was an extremely thin cable, a very powerful water blaster, or most likely scenario, the hire firm exaggerated knowing full well people would mistreat the gear a little bit. Either way, this is a cable resistance / power loss issue, not an overheating of cable issue. I'm not arguing about the resistance but the hire firm I deal with are good and they know their gear so I don't think there was any exaggeration. It was a reasonably grunty blaster. |

| 442185 | 2006-04-01 02:11:00 | Just done a quick survey of local Mitre10 and Warehouse extension cords. Mitre10 "Heavy duty" all labelled 1.5mm. Ringgrip do have a 2.5mm cord labelled "Extra heavy duty" but the only Ringgrip available was 1.5mm. Warehouse Adapt brand "Heavy duty" labelled 1.5mm Arlec Brand "Extra heavy duty" only labelled as plug/socket 10A, cable 15A but most likely 1.5mm. |
