But my $71 includes a phone line (for the 5th time in this post) with a value of around $45 value so therefore I am getting 2/128 with 5 gig for $26 dollars, sounds like a bloody good deal to me. |

Mike, where are you located? It seems a good deal. I am in the Wairarapa, and thought iHug was a good deal at $30/month but it has a 500 Mb cap; would be close to $71 if line rental included but your Telstra package is better; both are 2/128 down/up. But Xtra is supposed to be offering "cheaper faster" broadband (when?) so I would expect competition so will wait for the best deal. Will keep my eye on this thread....thanks for posting Mike. |

As I understand it you don't paythe Telecom $43 line maintenance. With my account I have to pay Telecom $43 to use their line plus $49 t0 Ihug. $91! So I pay $20 more than you, but I get an extra 5 gig. Whick I never use! |

| 443117 | 2006-04-03 00:00:00 | Mike what Telstra plan is the $71 one? Looking at this site (www.telstraclear.co.nz) ... I do not see it, and no mention of the home line inclusion. | Strommer (42) | ||
| 443118 | 2006-04-03 00:06:00 | Look at this page www.telstraclear.co.nz Me thinks this is cable? |

| 443119 | 2006-04-03 00:13:00 | Thanks Tukapa. The $61.90 / 1 Gb plan looks good to me. BTW, I have checked the Consumer (NZ) site and cannot get the page on high speed internet options. Can someone check this page (www.consumer.org.nz) ... and click on the High Speed Options at the top left, and see if you can get the page to load. Tried both Netscape and Firefox but no go. |

| 443121 | 2006-04-03 00:40:00 | Mike, I rang TelstraClear and the plan you are referring to is only for the Wlgtn, Chch, and Kapiti areas. In other areas the price is almost doubled. Tukapa, with both my browsers the Consumer site fails to load and appears to be blocked by one of my security programs, as the page download status in the bottom left margin flicks back and forth twice a second between the URL and "loading". Thanks for checking. |
