442895 2006-04-02 00:37:00 Some, not all of what OSH do is good thinks me. I think we have the right to take risks that effect ourselves, however on issues of public safety, OSH are needed because without them there would be too many cowboys who would not worry about such things as preventing things from falling of high buildings, and the likes.

Again it comes down to right of suicide, but not murder. We have the right to take dumb risks with our own safety, but not with the safety of others.

442896 2006-04-02 00:38:00 Some of course like our lives to be governed by others.
That is clear by the fact that we have this nanny lot.
To be clear,I would have all ash people shot. And osh too.

Shooting's too good for them.
I would collect them all together with all the bible bangers and transport them to the South Pole. Then leave them there.

442897 2006-04-02 00:45:00 OK you win. I'm defeated. Let's send osh and ash and the bilble bangers to the south pole and Rodney Hide and Telecom and the person/persons responsible for putting those little plastic stickers on apples. :p mark c (247)
442898 2006-04-02 00:54:00 Well said JJ,as for M thingy, this is not a debate but the statement of facts.

Both JJ and I are for individual freedoms,as long as it doesn't hurt others.

442900 2006-04-02 01:27:00 As for smoking in general. I believe everyone has the right to degrade themselves, and commit slow suicide, as after all your body is your own if we are to run with the concept of responsibility for onesself. So while i say people have the right to suicide, they do not have the right to murder, and therefore i oppose smoking in a confined public spaces.

There is NO passive smoking data. Its all bull. Yes it might affect you badly if you already have a respiratory condition but it is not going to give you one. Short of spending your life, and not just a Saturday night, locked into a crowded smokers room.

Any data can be tweaked to fit what the "righteous" want you to believe. They weren't doing too well until they hit on a way to get the general public to join their crusdae.

Guess what people, if you don't smoke, don't drink, eat healthy and exercise you'll still be dead in a short time.

As for the lack of data on passive smoking, i find that astonishing! However, when my lungs were in particualy bad shape from my own stupidity, i did find highly smoky environments both unpleasant and irritating to the point that i would find myself coughing if i laughed or did anything else that inspired large breaths. That suggests that the smoky bar is not good!

442903 2006-04-02 02:47:00 War vets are allowed to smoke, but just not in an environment where they can endanger the health of others.
How? By placing them outside in the cold and the rain hoping that they suffer from pneuminia ro some other nasty attack to which their bodies immune systems are incapable of fighting off?
