694296 2008-08-02 05:48:00 Hey just wondering if anyone here watches Freeview HD off their computer and what program do they use to view it?

A friend recommended DVBViewer. I get perfect quality video and audio but the program seems to be really unstable (random black screen crashes and also randomly exiting after around 25 minutes).

I've also tried Power Cinema. Audio is fine and my remote works but for some reason I get no video, just a blank black screen. I've tried playing around with every option to no avail. The program looks really neat though and would love to use it in the long term.

My tuner card is an Asus P7131D by the way.

Really wanna get it set up before the Olympics. Any other suggestions?

Cheers.

694297 2008-08-02 05:53:00 You don't have to answer this question, but is your copy of DVBViewer legit? Pirated software can be unstable due to the way people get around copy projection. It's really cheap, so worth buying to support the makers of the program. I bought a copy back in March, and have found it to be a brilliant piece of software (well worth the US$19 or whatever it was).

If you are running Windows Vista, check under Options-Settings-DirectX-Video Renderer and make sure it's set to VMR9. I've found the EVR (experimental Vista) setting to be unstable at times.

somebody, yes DVBViewer was a *ugh* copy. I just wanted to test it out and see if it works. If what you say is true then I would have to consider purchasing it.

Thanks for the help.
