694050 2008-08-01 04:22:00 Hi is Vista SP1 able to be downloaded from a local server in New Zealand? I'm with Xnet and local traffic is free I think.
Thanks,

694052 2008-08-01 08:25:00 Get it from the Microsoft download center (http://download.microsoft.com) Search for Vista SP1.

I say this because Xnet have an akamai server, in which content from the MS download center is on. Vista SP1 SHOULD be on it. If downloaded from akamai, it_SHOULD_be counted as local traffic. No guarantees though, as Xnet have no control of what is actually stored on akamai.

Note that windows update DOES NOT appear to use akamai.

694053 2008-08-01 08:37:00 I downloaded the server 2008 DVD ISO (x32), last mth (1.8 GB), from the MS download site.

I'm pretty sure I didnt see it change from 1.4 GB (what it was before I got the DVD iso), to 3.2 GB on Xnet's usage monitor. It stayed at 1.4.

Unless the monitor was way behind, in updating

Cheers,
