695014 2008-08-05 03:44:00 Thanks, but unfortunately it didn't do what I wanted.

.
When I erter "run/MSCONFIG" I get the message msconfig can not be found.

I did a search and found msconfig.exe in prefetch. Clicking on it in the search window works OK, but how do I get it back into "RUN" ?

695015 2008-08-05 03:53:00 Sounds like it may have gotten lost some how, msconfig should be in the following path

C:\Windows\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries

click start/run and copy & paste the path into run, hit enter, the msconfig.exe should be there.

Go to This site here (www.raymond.cc) it tells you how to fix the problem.

You're not literally entering run/msconfig into the run box are you ?

You just want to enter msconfig into the run box.

695018 2008-08-05 04:13:00 If you still having trouble with "run msconfig"

find it in search again - click to highlight and right click "copy"

Navigate to C:\Windows\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries and right click "paste"

now try msconfig in the run box

695020 2008-08-05 04:35:00 run regedit and navigate to here :

( *Edit* had the "s" in paths in the wrong place! - now corrected)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\App Paths\MSCONFIG.EXE

and the path there should be

C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries\msconfig.exe
