694772 2008-08-04 01:25:00 Hi, i keep trying to download a file from the internet but everytime i try, it seems to lock up at one point. And by lock up i mean that it stays stuck at a percentage and it never goes anywhere. It will maybe go to 30 or 40% and than it locks. I've used IE and Firefox and still the same problem. Please someone help me, im confused. :horrified

Lars.

694773 2008-08-04 01:29:00 What sort of file are you trying to download , and where from ?

Is it a normal download from a well known site, or are you using some sort of file downloading / sharing program ??

694776 2008-08-04 01:44:00 are you downloading anything else at the same time? Sometimes those direct download break before they complete because your computer isnt able to keep the connection up. (due to other downloading and uploading on the same internet link) utopian201 (6245)
694777 2008-08-04 01:54:00 With Rapidshare unless you have a paid account you can only download 1 file at a time if its a multi split file. You're not trying that are you ?

Also try using a file download manager - something like Freedownload Manager (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/) - sometimes they work better. There's even some instructions on the bottom of that linked page that shows how to use in Rapidshare.

694778 2008-08-04 02:21:00 i made FDE monitor firefox then i clicked free and stuff but it still downloaded in firefox...wtf....am i not getting something? LarsJohann (13010)
694779 2008-08-04 02:24:00 Should i try and reset my connection or something? LarsJohann (13010)
694780 2008-08-04 02:49:00 Check the download manager is actually set, open it, select options / Download options (or open the manager, press Ctrl + O ) Under the monitoring tab, make sure FF is selected.

If you are using the free account you select the file, click download, you should get a box pop up from download manager. Select the folder to save to (if not already set) and OK - and down it comes
