694503 2008-08-03 05:50:00 A friend has asked me to help out. I feel a little anxious/apprehensive.

The problem is apparently (and I haven't yet looked at her computer) that her email can't be accessed (she can access the internet though). She contacted Telecom and was told the solution was to uninstall/reinstall IE6. Apparently, she doesn't use Outlook Express, but goes in through IE6 (??).

IE6 doesn't look intuitive to uninstall - so thought I would run the problem past you guys. :help:

Your comments would be appreciated - as always/ :)
Cheers

694504 2008-08-03 05:56:00 She probably uses webmail (on Xtra's site using IE) to check email.

Just find the IE 6 install file on the MS site, (if it still exists), and reinstall it. Or update to IE 7.

If its XP.

694505 2008-08-03 07:24:00 Thanks, Speedy. I'll find out! :thanks

Just a thought - when you say 'MS' site - where 'exactly' do you mean?

694506 2008-08-03 07:36:00 It'll be here somewhere (www.microsoft.com)

Altho, I could only find the updates for it, not the main install file

694507 2008-08-03 07:47:00 I'm sure I can find an old PC World cd with IE6 on it. :)

Thanks.
