694469 2008-08-03 04:23:00 Hey . I suspect the problems to my crashing (see last thread of mine - . pcworld . co . nz/showthread . php?t=92216" target="_blank">forums . pcworld . co . nz) are some files of "Fable - Lost Chapters" are still remaining on our computer and causing it to crash on everything using Direct X .
I have tried to uninstall the program, which worked btw, but everything is still crashing and freezing .

Because everything was going fine before Fable was run on this computer, is there any chance that the uninstaller missed something, a file, maybe on the registry?
I was thinking it could be a problem with the registry, or perhaps with DirectX itself .

If there is, is there a program or software, hopefully free, that i could use to search out and destroy these problem causing files? :badpc:
I just don't really want to take it back, and i would rather solve the problem myself .
Thanks in advance for your help . :)

694470 2008-08-03 04:33:00 Just go into c drive program files and delete its folder or download ccleaner and run the registry clean up part gary67 (56)
694471 2008-08-03 04:38:00 Well there's not much else that could cause it.

Its probably ram or the videocard

You could try ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com)

Which removes temp files and invalid registry entries.

Open the case (turn it off), and make sure the videocard is in properly

Another thing, you could try is uninstall the videocard drivers, then get this (downloads.guru3d.com)

Install it reboot into safe mode. Run it then select Nvidia, then start. Once its finished (to make sure everything has gone), find the Nvidia folders and delete them. Then use ccleaner, click on registry / scan for issues. Whatever comes up delete it. Then reinstall the video drivers, in normal windows

694472 2008-08-04 05:11:00 Hey . . sorry for late reply . . . i used CCleaner to clean the registry, and the games worked perfectly, with no crashes, freezing or nothing for at least an hour and a half .
But now, when I log in (on any user) i get the message:

"Error Loading: C\WINDOWS\system32\NvMcTray . dll"
"The specified module could not be found"

Is there any way to remove this?? or get it back?? Oh btw i restored the backup and it is still appearing .

I also recieved a blue screen while i was out (the computer was on idle, just sitting on the desktop) :( it read:

A problem has been detected + windows has been shut down to prevent damage .
First time . . .
Disable or uninstall any antivirus . . .

If you can help me resolve any of these issues, that would be great . . thanks in advance :)
