694340 2008-08-02 08:44:00 Brand new HDD , I,ve just installed Ubuntu Hardy Heron and had it working wonderfully...then it advised me of an update which i allowed it to do..rather a large one. When it had finished it started to install the updates..got to around 95% and seized on the language packs...I left it for 24 hours..nothing. Turned comp off. now we boot and I get to fill my user name and password, then nothing BSOD (except is a brown colour ). Insert the cd and not even the live disc shows... help !!:badpc: limepile (96)

Try this, at boot up press ESC,select recovery, then select scan disks let it reboot and rpeat the procedure until no errors are found.
