But what if the phone is imported ex-charger - and sold here with a Nokia NZ compatible charger bought in NZ - will that be in line? So now the phone is a genuine Nokia ph with a NZ safe charger, warrantied. And normally these are GPRS phones unlocked - so Vodafone only. Just checking | scotch (10159) | ||

| 444645 | 2008-11-26 09:43:00 | Godfather, I have read this thread at length at and am still none the wiser. You appear to be very knowlegable on the subject and your comments have been very thought provoking. I have been trying to find out from various agencies (Energy Safety, Radio Spectrum Management, etc) but no one seems to be able to tell me in plain english what my obligations and requirements are with respect to importing and selling mobile phones in NZ. I can only presume then that all those people with small one man Chinese phone shops and TradeMe and perhaps even private sellers are breaking the law? Can you offer any advice with who to talk to and what needs to be done. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. |

| 444646 | 2008-11-26 09:59:00 | Hi all. My Chinese friend was telling me how he can get a lot of cell phones cheaply through his father, so we were wondering if it`s legal to sell them in NZ? importing them should be no problem. selling them should be no problem. if you post price list on here you can expect to get the kick :-) this will be the case in most NZ forums. your problem is not selling, so much as getting customers. |
