444837 2006-04-09 07:02:00 Actrix currently. $55, 2mbps/128, 700mb/day cap (~21gb/mth).... I was on the old 1Mbps plan, so they free up-graded me to 2mbps recently as those plans were shelved....

Why do I use them? Nice capping structure, daily instead of monthly, and quite generous data at that price too. Speed can be quite bad though, you only go up to full speed if it was dead quiet and the crickets have stopped chirping, otherwise, ur probably stuck with 65-75% of your intended speed...

Am thinking of going onto the quicksilver student plans (www.quicksilver.co.nz/studentcard), same price, $55, but 3.5mbps/128, and 30gb! Nice!

444838 2006-04-09 18:35:00 We are currently running on 256k/10GB with Maxnet, but considering a change, perhaps to Worldnet 3.5mb/ Go2G.
Who do you use, and why? Good stories / bad stories encouraged! Anybody else use Worldnet?

:waughh:

Yes, been with them for some years now....

cosistent, no dramas, communication a little wanting at times as they are a Korean outfit, but they do care and do try to improve their service.

Not sure if they have changed their policy, but their tolls used to cost at least $10 per month - you were penalised for not making enough toll calls. That meant that their plans were effectively $10 more expensive than everyone else

444842 2006-04-11 00:17:00 1. Can't get cable
2. ADSL wasn't available via other providers when I signed up.
3. Have more choice now. Will review my plan and provider very soon.

444843 2006-04-13 05:31:00 It seems Ihug's plans are muc more attracitve than Xtra's at this moment.

For the same price at $79.95

Xtra - 3.5GB down / 512K up , 10GB cap , 5 emails , 2 cents per MB after cap.

Ihug - 3.5GB down / 512K up , 30GB cap (10 peak + 20 off peak) , 10 emails , 30MB web space , $5 per GB or 64K speed change after cap, unlimited upload.
