It probably wouldn't have been as bad if my monitor could handle it at a higher refresh rate than 60hz :yuck: |

| 443908 | 2006-04-05 05:51:00 | 800 by 600 is completely unusable these days. Take the dialog boxes in OS X as an example - in many cases the OK button is off the bottom of the screen. People who get 17 '' LCDs and the resolution is set at the native 1280 by 1024 constantly complain "the text is too small". My response is "do you know you get free eye testing paid by the employer here" :p Having said that you should probably still aim at 800 by 600 for the web. I know one crazy mate who loves that resolution on a 19'' CRT and he isn't blind.. |

| 443910 | 2006-04-05 06:06:00 | Whoops careless of me I voted 600 X 480 when I actually use 800 X 60 But then I can never understand why people get a good computer monitor etc and have almost unreadable tiny text on it. Not only am I careless I also change demo computers in shops when I try them out, definately a prison term is on its way! Clients I have changed to this setting are always amazed how much better it is. Needless to say I NEVER play games (apart from Freecell of course) Games should not be in PCWorld but need their own grotty magazine. Tom |
