694683 2008-08-03 22:21:00 I have been having a "No Memory" problem recently.

Computer stops and gives a no memory card and offers to reboot.
Also when I boot I have to wait about 10 seconds after windows loads before I can do anything. When I switch off I get up to a minutes delay before I get the "windows is closing down" card.

I have emptied temp folder and temp Internet files. Have run Spybot 1.6. Done a deep scan with Nod 32.

No difference.

Win XP pro. 4 gigs DDR3 1600 ram

Any suggestions

694684 2008-08-03 22:29:00 Try running memtest86+ to see if your ram is faulty.

Download the iso, burn to a cd, then boot from the cd.

www.memtest.org

Direct download link: www.memtest.org

I think running 2 passes would be enough to confirm that your ram is fine

Also, any possibility of a screenshot? Cause a can't quite understand what's happening

694685 2008-08-03 22:35:00 Could be the pagefile.sys file?

Right mouse on my computer / properties / advanced / performance / setting
/ advanced / change.

Change it to no paging file, then set. Reboot.

Then go back to it after and change it to system managed size, and click on set, reboot again. It'll recreate it

See if it makes any diff

Or something is having probs loading on startup and something maybe hanging, when you shutdown

694686 2008-08-03 22:35:00 The windows XP Pro - is it the 64 Bit edition - if its not then that could be your problem, the standard 32 Bit only will see 3 Gb Memory. wainuitech (129)
