443539 2006-04-03 15:32:00 Hi, I’m looking to buy my sister a computer who lives in New Zealand. I live in the UK; can anyone point me in the right direction? Good quality retailers. For an example of what I’m looking for: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ .
http://www.scan.co.uk/ hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance.

443540 2006-04-03 17:43:00 C1 Shopping Mall (http://www.c1com.co.nz/) has been recommended by myself and a few others here.

A lot of folks use Ascent, but to me they're overrated and can be a bit pricey. But I'd still go with them than any other unknown because they do have a good reputation.

443541 2006-04-03 19:22:00 Does the NZ sister have any ideas herself about what she wants - or is this simply Bruvver deciding for her? Laura (43)
443542 2006-04-03 19:53:00 Good point, and does sister need someone to hold her hand when it all turns to custard? If so she had beter get one from a personalized computer store.

My rule of thumb: never buy a computer from a store that also sells washing machines, or food.

How could a girl know what computer she wants. Bruvver would have to decide for her. :p

Some of us girls advise the customers what they need too you know. Hah! Like we believe that! Or do they always walk away with a washing machine instead of a pc? :p

443547 2006-04-03 22:20:00 Hah! Like we believe that! Or do they always walk away with a washing machine instead of a pc? :pWell that's the conspiracy of course, coz her hubbie's a plumber.

So she advises on what sort of PC to buy, customer gets a washing machine, calls her out to say it's not working and can't access the Internet, she advises you need a plumber, hubbie goes out, and advises needs a better version of PC, she goes back and fulfils the customers' requirements. All happy, and that's a success story of triple dipping! :)
