| 695593 | 2008-08-07 07:29:00 | I recently ran the above command on XP home, I tried the slipstreamed disk I made with SP3 on it and it would not work. I made this disk from my home XP disk that has no service packs. I know the slipstreamed disk is OK as I recovered another PC with it. Next I put in the original XP disk no service acks and sfc /scannow worked. Tried to do same with wifes XP pro and it will not work from the slip stream Pro disk even though it was installed originally from a SP2 disk tried that and it did not work either. So does sfc /scannow only work with non service pack disks? As for me disks with the service packs do not work. Thanks :illogical |

The CD is only required if at any stage it needs files from it. I have discovered that sometimes CD's wont work where original XP CD's will. |
