695354 2008-08-06 07:57:00 Gidday.

Opened My Pictures and clicked on Help and Support (to find about watermarking) and got a pop-up box saying:

'Windows cannot find 'helpctr.exe'.....etc etc etc'

I then did a Search and got two entries for this...both in 'C' drive with gobbledegook after it.

Soooo.....they seem to be in the bowels of my puter.....why do I get the message in My Pictures?? :help:

And how do I get it back??

:thanks

695361 2008-08-06 08:27:00 Seems it's not meant to be......followed the path to App Paths......and it's all in alphabetical order.

Goes from GSDemo.exe to Hpqgalry.exe

Nothing 'He'...........

Might try again tomorrow

695362 2008-08-06 08:42:00 Try this (support.microsoft.com)

It should apply to XP as well

If this registry entry does not exist, create a new entry. To do this, follow these steps:

a. Locate the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\App Paths

b. Right-click App Paths, point to New, and then click Key.
c. Type Helpctr.exe.
d. In the left pane, click Helpctr.exe.
e. In the right pane, right-click (Default), and then click Modify.
f. In the Value data box, type C:\Windows\PCHealth\Helpctr\Binaries\Helpctr.exe, and then click OK.
16. On the Registry menu, click Exit to quit the Registry Editor.

And method 1 after if the file isnt on the hdd
