695112 2008-08-05 22:26:00 This drive was showing as drive I: on my system. Curious as to why my backups were not current I found that is now showing as drive J:. Nothing shows with the letter I: and I have no idea how this drive renamed itself.

How can I change it back to the previous setting?

695113 2008-08-05 22:30:00 That depends on what else is in the system.

If you using a few hdd's, and a card reader, those have properly taken up C to I

Go to disk management and change the drive letter

If you want to change drive letters, go to Control Panel, Administrative tools, Computer Management, Disk Management.

Do bear in mind if you change a drive letter, and any software is linking something to that letter, there is the potential for stuff to get rather messed up. ;)
