446449 2006-04-15 04:07:00 Ok, basically I have learned most things to do with a PC through just playing around with a PC, reading manuals and trying to pick up on the jargon through PC usage.

Now Im quite hooked on how programs work and things similar in nature. Is there a basic course or something that I could do to learn more? Considering I do not officially know anything, has anyone done a course or had tuition? I guess Id have to go for a beginners one.

Any suggestions?

446450 2006-04-15 04:33:00 Well I have a friend who is a very competent programmer and he never did a course in his life, just making his own programs in various languages and researching on the net.

You could do an Open Polytech course though...

446452 2006-04-16 12:27:00 Have you considered following Pctek's advice? If you think you still got the spirit to learn and improve, I would recommend you to go for a diploma in ICT (takes around 2 years, I think, you got to consult bob_doe_nz for that matter); you get to learn all those basics and best of all, get certified for that. Good luck!

Cheers :)

No. For that you do need qualifications.
