2006-04-17 10:59:00 | hey I was born even before the internet what's motox? mx = motox = motorcross, offroad motorcycle racing. it's honestly the most extreme thing ever conceived, except maybe for fmx (freestyle mx, that the guy doing backflips etc eg, xair down in wellington) you know, there's only a couple of world mx championships so i understand  basically, and now i'm ranting off topic, its requires more skill than any other motorsport, and more physical effort than any sport. you may not beleive me, but if you buy a old four stroke dirtbike and a helmet for $1000, you'll pretty soon be spending much, much more :D (Bikers only: you cant possibly learn on a 2 stroke, no power, then BOOM, on your ass, bike in a tree. that also why i say older bike first, doesnt matter if you kill it) ok, as you can see, i believe certain things about motorbikes, i'm not starting a war over it though! riding 4 or 2 strokes is usually a preference based on riding style - not a religion to fight over

(never had to, either). i would have got a crf250 but the 400 was only $3800 :D i actually prefer the larger trail/enduro rides without all the pressure, but races are just too addictive! do you use msn? where in nz are you? |

2006-04-17 13:16:00 | Politics should be governed with an unbiast mind, not persuaded or dissuaded in any way by outside influences. Religion is optional, and should not be forced by means of political gain. We elect Mp's on policies, not for their God. | powertron (9655) | |
2006-04-17 13:35:00 | And while on the subject, [url removed] read what the idiot Pope said in his easter ramblings. It's kinda stupid spreading that kinda rubbish. | Greg (193) | |
2006-04-17 19:52:00 | And whilst we're on the subject of religion and politics, it's a well known and documented fact that over 90% of all wars throughout history were religiously motivated to a certain extent. Even todays wars are religiously motivated with politicians mentioning God more and more in their speaches, but seeing as the way we are being directionly steered towards Human Rights and the constant fear of upsetting different nominations, it's only a matter of time that the term 'God' will be dropped for a less offensive term to non believers. This countries going to the dogs, and we are feeding it.

2006-04-17 21:10:00 | then all the countries could unite as one like a global USA with countries as states . . . how could we war then? A few thoughts: Has nobody heard of the American Civil war? We have a United Nations which keeps some sort of order within its ranks, but there will always be dissenting States who would stand outside the collective body, or be refused admission . Christianity is strictly a minor religion . Dire Straits summed it very nicely in "Industrial Disease": Two men say they're Jesus, one of them must be wrong . . . Allowing that every religion has a significant number of believers for their One True God, and assuming for one wild irrrational moment that there is some grossly overcrowded place out there labelled Heaven, there must be a helluva lot of disappointed souls every day who arrive at immigration control to find that they are carrying the wrong passport . So, where do they go? Hell? With an overblown population like that poor old Lucifer must be going out of his tiny mind trying to accommodate them all . Either that, or if there are multiple Heavens there must be some terrible conflicts going on as each group tries to take control of the softest clouds . Just like on earth, it would be war in perpetuity, since they are all immortal souls and presumably can't die twice . With so many Heavens, should there be an equivalent number of Hells? Or do you think that the UBoDGMP & S will have got their act together and agreed on a collective purgatory to economise on space and administration costs? Since Christianity (as a minority group and late starters) has only been building Christian Afterlife Inc . for a couple of thousand years, what happened to all the poor souils who died before there was an organisation set up to save them? How are the Martyrs going to feel when they arrive and find that the supply of virgins ran out a couple of centuries ago, or worse, that there never were any virgins in the first place? It is very hard to reconcile religious fervour and fanaticism with an afterlife quite so excessive as rampant sex . No matter which way you look at it, it doesn't fit the teachings . Cheers Billy 8-{) UBoDGMP&S = United Brotherhood of Deities, Gods, Messiahs, Prophets & Saviours
