446113 2006-04-15 02:41:00 So I went out the back and checked - still pouring. Only it wasn't rain.....the back door led into one of these solarium things with a spa tub and lots of plants....the rain was the automatic sprinkler system giving the plants their daily soak!

 :waughh:

446114 2006-04-15 03:32:00 LOL....this reminds me of an amusing incident that happened to me last weekend.

We visited Rotorua for a few days. Stayed at a motel....very nice.

In the morning I opened the back door and found torrential rain, so went through to tell my wife about the awful weather and we'd have to change our plans with the grandchildren.

"Well", she said "it's lovely and sunny out the front".

I opened the front door, and yes, it was....beuatiful bright day.

So I went out the back and checked - still pouring. Only it wasn't rain.....the back door led into one of these solarium things with a spa tub and lots of plants....the rain was the automatic sprinkler system giving the plants their daily soak!
Can we assume you chose the front door to have your hols?

Unfortunately, it did rain later and the front door led to Rotoruas' shopping centre and it cost me the price of a new computer to amuse the kids for the day....and Mrs Brig....and a few odds and ends for me........quite a few odds and ends actually, I still haven't opened all the boxes. :o

I forgot to mention that it also cost me a $14 infringement fee at a stupid parking meter because Mrs Brig put the $2 dollars in the wrong meter. When we got back to the car there was still 20 mins to go on the meter, but the one next door!! Wrote to Rotorua District Council with this story, so if any reader happens to work for them I would be grateful for any influence you can bring to bear. ;)

446120 2006-04-16 09:35:00 Well we went to the maze.................and had an absolute ball of a time....

they were handing out eggs left right and centre and with 6 kids between the two of us, probably came home with 30 or so eggs!!!!

the sun was out and it was warm and we got lost just a little bit in the maze......
but well worth the effort to go. and not as scary as the horror maize.........

:D

446121 2006-04-17 09:36:00 I had a great Easter. :)

Barbie with friends in Opua ( Bay of Islands) on Sat. night and you know, a few bevvies here and there. Sunday bit of helping out on the developing section in the morning then a great afternoon's sail from the marina way out into the bay (towards Black Rocks). Gentle winds, fine but no blazing sun, good person to go with. We just went out on one tack, came about and back on another tack, simple as but peachy. New boat for both of us so time to get used to it, was excellent. Then a relatively quiet evening for all. (You need this when holidaying, I've leanrt). Then Monday back on the section shifting stuff from under the house to the New Shed. (ooooooh sheds are good) then to some German mates place for afternoon barbie, choice as a bucket. Great bunch of people. Had to decline the Schnapps, drove back home. Whoopppeeee

Bless Public Holidays
