447094 2006-04-18 01:23:00 I obviously missed out on something then, cos I only ever played it on single.

But as for C&C (Tiberian Sun) - I was known to have spent SEVEN hours online at a stretch, and became ranked better than 900th in the world of over 56 000 registered players. Played even longer spells at AOE - Kings :nerd: Ah those were the heady days of being a uni student!

447095 2006-04-18 01:36:00 I remember AOE2 - Kings, it was great. There was something about that game. Simple, but great. I liked it better than Rise of Nations.

Rise of Legends looks cool though. I havn't played a fantasy RTS before. In fact, the whole game reminds me of 2 different series of books I used to read, so I like it even more. I like the simpler resource gathering as well. And how you don't need a villager to build buildings.

Mmmm, dragons, phoenix, weheheee.

447096 2006-04-18 06:29:00 Rise of legends seems quite good but I think that is similar to Warcraft 3

When I first played warcraft 3 it was quite fun but then I wasn't use to the fact that the population is restricted to 200 only while C&C you can build unlimited amount of units

There was no way of winning on warcraft 3 because whenever I fought against the computer or human players it would actually be a draw. 200 vs 200 population.

Anyone still play warcraft 3 these days?

447098 2006-04-18 12:27:00 well, to put it simply, games have been going downhill ever since graphics were considered more important than gameplay.

definetly try starcraft, warcraft3 was just a takeoff of it that really was ****.
aoe kings = very good

the latest aoe, ie number 3, not mythology seems half finished. the only good art is the water graphics lol.

new games: battlefield 2, doom3, civilisation4, trackmania nations (free, very good) (http://www.trackmanianations.com), ummm, FEAR is OK but too much looks and no story.
get gta san andreas if you have not already... hours of violent bliss

i hate c&c generals, tiberian sun was the best!

447099 2006-04-18 13:44:00 Haha yeah age of empires 3 was really bad.

Really regretted buying it.Hmm but it's quite popular up at trademe at the mo as the reserve is like $43

I wonder if battlefield is good.

C&C generals was the best:) Maybe you need to spend a little bit longer to adapt the game play:)

Doom 3 was quite boring but quake 4 was alot better

The problem with quake 4 was that I am unable to find any servers so I can play against other people online.

447100 2006-04-18 15:54:00 tiberian sun was the best!Yes!! I especially liked it recently when I lost my main computer and had to play it on a Celeron laptop on dialup - I still beat up my bro on online play! Go the Noddy's! :D Greg (193)

You what I'm really looking forward to? Jagged Alliance 3D (www.mistgames.ru). The Jagged Alliance games look like [censored] but were great fun to play.

447102 2006-04-18 22:39:00 I remember playing Red Alert 2 with my brother... getting my arse kicked... switching to quake, kicking his arse.

Still, you can't beat Dark Forces 2

JA2 was a really good game that I would probably still play occasionally if I still had it. I never played the origional.

Generals is good, but it needs the Zero Hour expansion to make it great
