445767 2006-04-13 04:29:00 There's one good reason for following a standard if one exists: it's right.

There's a very good reason for not "improving" or "enhancing" a standard: it's wrong, and it breaks.

Doing things you can "get away with" because the interpreters (and browsers) accept non standard-compliant code is laziness and sloppy work. Another term for that is "non-professional".

445770 2006-04-13 06:31:00 But if that was the site, it would be easy to validate and convert tables to div and css. Have a look here www.ssi-developer.net Rob99 (151)

445774 2006-05-11 23:30:00 Here is an article that does some explaining on why not to use tables for layout.

www.hotdesign.com be bothered to look beyond the first silly page.

Here's an "article" that explains why I use tables:

1) They work.
2) They work for my clients.
3) No other way has been proven to me to work better.
4) I'm not prejudiced against tables.
5) For now I'm too lazy to learn an alternative method to tables.
6) I couldn't care less about validation or other criteria.
7) I'm happy.
