| 695215 | 2008-08-06 02:36:00 | Hi all Have a wee problem on my work PC (and several others!) . When opening Word 2003 I get the following error: "Error: (429) ActiveX component can't create object Procedure: modPublic . Autoexec" . Click OK and it goes away and Word works fine . I think it has something to do with an invalid registry setting . But don't really know . I have tried the 'fixes' from the Microsoft Technical site with no joy . Have uninstalled Word - then reinstalled it . Uninstalled Office - then reinstalled it . All with no joy . Have also tried a registry repair program which finds LOTS of errors, but can't repair them unless I but the software . So in short, does anyone know of some free registry repair software? Or a fix for this error? We are using WinXP Pro . SP2 Cheers |
