| 445181 | 2006-04-09 08:32:00 | Hi Team I want to buy three music CDs from Amazon for my son, but he needs them urgently and I can't confirm that International shipping will be by airmail. I have purchased before and received the discs via airmail within 7 days, but I have also had the experience of snail-mail shipping that takes months to arrive. Can any regular purchaser(s) from Amazon comment on the percentage of sellers that do use airmail, or if there is anything that I can do in making the purchase to ensure that it doesn't come by sea! Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 445183 | 2006-04-09 09:22:00 | I buy nearly all my music CDs from Amazon or most usually through one of their listed suppliers, like Caiman, normal International Shipping usually takes about 7 to 10 days. | Terry Porritt (14) | ||
| 445184 | 2006-04-09 09:33:00 | Certainly cannot claim to be a regular - however both times I have purchased CD's they have arrived very quickly indeed - within about 5-7 days (closer to 5). Misty :2cents: |

| 445185 | 2006-04-09 10:58:00 | Thanks all. Sounds like airmail is the usual mode of despatch, so my odd surface mail experiences have been aberrations. One supplier quoted airmail and failed to deliver, so I complained and after a protracted delay and minor argument (in which they got very nasty indeed and accused me of scamming etc but declined to provide proof of despatch) they allegedly sent another by airmail. Two months later it hadn't arrived either so I reversed out the charge on my credit card. About a month after reversal, the first CD actually arrived, followed a couple of months later by the second CD. They had both come by surface mail via heaven knows where, probably the Ukraine or on a slow boat via China. Faced with the moral dilemma of receiving goods not paid for, I emailed the good news but got no reply, so after considering the cost of returning one or both to the US, I decided to use one and keep the other on the shelf with the shrink-wrap intact and wait for them to come and collect it. So far nobody has turned up. The music is Jazz, and not often "mainstream" hence the lack of sources in NZ. We keep in touch with Marbecks and Real Groovy (I've been a customer of the latter since their very first shop opened many years ago) but only occasionally can they meet our needs. | 445186 | 2006-04-09 11:13:00 | I wanted a special CD just before last Christmas . . . . I know . . . I know . . . I should have ordered it way back in November! Local Planet Jack store were very obliging and could have ordered it for me, but because of the usual festive season mayhem, advised it could take a month . Amazon came up trumps, but did advise me to pay the faster delivery price, again, because of it being around Christmas . I think the postage was around $16 . Next time I will order it yesterday! Cheers, Marnie |
