696255 2008-08-10 07:17:00 I have a wireless modem/ router and have just acquired a VOIP/ router so I can use my normal phone for VOIP calls. I also have a VOIP phone connected to the modem/ router. Does it matter which router connects to the PC? Is there a logical arrangement that gives me the best setup configuration? bpt2 (6653)
696256 2008-08-10 10:56:00 You need to decide on the primary router that will do most of the router work and set the other up as a cascaded router with most services disabled. It doesn't matter which you attach the PC to.

696257 2008-08-10 13:38:00 OK so I have my Netcomm NB5PLus4W as my main router on 192.168.1.1. It is set to DHCP. The Netcomm V300 VOIP router has an IP address of 192.168.30.1. and I cannot access it at the moment. What settings do I need to apply to the VOIP router? Can I use QOS settigns on the VOIP router? bpt2 (6653)
696258 2008-08-12 14:48:00 I am still a bit confused.
My current setup is:
Netcomm NB5Plus4W connects me to the internet and is set to DHCP. I have a VOIP phone and another PC connected to that router.
I have just acquired a Netcomm V300 router so I can use my normal phone as well. So what settings should I make for each router in order to get the best VOIP connection and best internet speed?I I understand that they cannot both be set for DHCP. Step by step advice please.

696259 2008-08-12 23:47:00 It'll probably be easier / better, if you brought a modem / router / VOIP in 1. Speedy Gonzales (78)
696260 2008-08-13 02:35:00 You are probably right. However I now have achieved a measure of success. The V300 is connected to the PC via LAN and to the modem/ router via WAN and I can make VOIP calls on my phone.
The V300 has DHCP enabled (as does the modem) which seems to work. The PC IP is 192.168.30.2 (V300: 192.168.30.1). The modem router has an IP 192.168.1.1
The default gateway on the PC is 192.168.30.1, but from a wireless connected laptop (IP set to dynamic) it is 192.168.1.1.
However I cannot connect the two computers now. (they both have internet connection). The WAN on the V300 is set to: WAN IP Address :192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask :255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :192.168.1.1, Primary DNS Server : 192.168.1.1
Is there a simple resolution of this?
