| 696188 | 2008-08-09 22:30:00 | Guy’s I’ve scanned a page from a book and saved it as a jpg file. Now I wish to delete a paragraph and stitch the rest back together. I’ve got GIMP, Infranview, PhotoImpression, Microsoft Photo Editor and probably others but can’t find a way to do this. Any suggestions anyone? :thanks Note: I’m a right amateur with all these programmes. :blush: |

Using the marquee tool (looks like a dotted border box in your main toolbar, is the second one in Paint and is called "Select") to select the lower portion you wish to keep. Now cut and paste, now shift the lower section up over the paragraph you want to remove. Done. | sal (67) | ||

Digby, I purchased, at huge expense, an OCR programme called Textbridge (I think?) many years ago. However, it was fairly useless, but I guess they may have improved. What's the update as to the best, these days? |

"Microsoft Office Document Scanning (MODS) is a scanning and OCR application included with Microsoft Office. The OCR engine is based upon Nuance's OmniPage." Finereader is another OCR that comes close to or better than Omnipage. Around version 5 it sometimes used to be on magazine cover disks. |
