| 449097 | 2006-05-08 12:30:00 | Do you own rfactor? If not, then buy it, She has the best netcode ever built for a race-sim . http://www . rfactor . net/ Dont be under-whelmed by the lack of default content, Its all the add-ons that move the game into the level of killer (though its the platform that allows the add-ons to make the game killer) and it does have some sweet tracks in the initial install . after purchasing the game and coming to grips with its layout I would suggest a trip over to the first site I linked to in this thread www . rfactorlive . com Its a league run by a crew of Aussies and they have a server or two running every night, with orginised races 2 or 3 times a week, Just join up in the forum and intorduce yourself, Good bunch of guys and plenty of Kiwis in the mix . Their forums also have links to nearly all the worthy mods and tracks available, My favourite car sets are the Protoracers, Mclaren challenge,Megane Trophy, A1GP . . . . but there are many many more available, from Porches to Superkarts to F1 cars to Aussie V8's, and many many many more in the pipeline . As for tracks, their are so many available that its a case of making sure you have what the server is running and the ones finding current favour, and of course a selection of your own hand picked favourites, I like long tracks so spend most of my time on Lemans, Bathurst, Dragon, Lienz,Spa . . . as for how to race online, fire up rFator, hit the connect button, boomfa, list of servers . And for anyone who finds the game a little difficult, The Protoracers are easy to drive, and all cars are made tamer by using the traction control and stability driving aids, Rfactorlive even allows these to be used on their servers . Though practice helps more then anything . This is an official add-on for the game, well worth getting . http://lienzfestival . org/ and you can also get a small file that lets you mix up all the cars into a single series, so you can have your Vipers Vs F1 VS touring cars VS Porche VS Mazda MX-5 . . . . |
