696115 2008-08-10 02:49:00 Im a bit paranoid about spyware, ive just had it fixed because of it.
I was running only Avast last time and some of it got through and damaged something important.
Thats what the tech said.

696116 2008-08-10 03:59:00 Well its not necessary. A PC wont die without it
Sure the PC Wont die with out the antispyware running but prevention is better than cure and if you disable the antispyware its like turning off the antivirus then doing a scan once a month to see if anything has gotten through and you are infected.

Its actually like a customer who's PC I took back yesterday - was full of spyware, one was the antivirus 2008.
He rang today and said it was back again - I asked what he had done or been - his reply was he went straight back to certain porn sites after I had left - Spyware terminator stopped the site from loading, so he disabled it, now hes reinfected, and complaining about having to get it fixed again-- well durhhhhh.

696119 2008-08-10 04:28:00 Disabling Spyware protection to view a website? That is one dumb customer. Programs don't block websites for no reason.... SPARTAN 860 (2618)
696120 2008-08-10 04:31:00 lol well thats what u get for going to porn sites So true, but its not just porn sites either - My son was playing Runescape on Wednesday(as he does every day after school) and got two warning out of the blue that Antivirus 2008 tried to install, the program that stopped it was spysweeper. He came running out to the workshop saying there was a pop up/warning and he thought I'd better have a look at it.

I looked on the history log and he hadn't been anywhere else.

696122 2008-08-10 05:15:00 For the keyboard to cause the PC to beep means it's freezing up already (probably also why your mouse cursor screws up)

Wouldn't likely be the keyboard itself
